Privacy Policy
Effective Date: [08/01/2026]
Last Updated: [08/01/2026]
Loopa LLC ("Loopa," "we," "us," or "our") provides an online coding education and technical interview preparation platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use Loopa's website, applications, coding tools, dashboards, community features, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy should be read together with the Loopa Terms and Conditions. The Terms govern access to the Services, Access Plans, refunds, acceptable use, intellectual property, and other contractual matters. This Privacy Policy focuses on personal information and privacy rights.
For purposes of applicable data protection laws, Loopa LLC is the controller of personal information covered by this Privacy Policy, except where a third party acts as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.
1. Who May Use Loopa
The Services are intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old. Loopa does not authorize anyone under 18 to create an account or use the Services.
2. Personal Information We Collect
We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, secure, improve, and support the Services.
2.1 Account and Identity Information
When you create or use an account, we may collect:
- your name and email address;
- a profile image you upload or choose to display;
- your Loopa user identifier and account settings; and
- account status, access entitlements, and authentication records.
2.2 Third-Party Sign-In Information
You may be able to create an account or sign in through Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, or Facebook. Depending on the permissions you approve, the identity provider may send us information such as your name, email address, profile image, provider account identifier, and an authentication token.
Loopa does not receive or store the password you use with the third-party identity provider. The provider processes your information under its own terms and privacy policy.
2.3 Purchase and Transaction Information
Access Plans are one-time, prepaid purchases and do not automatically renew. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe and PayPal.
Loopa may receive transaction information needed to activate access, issue a receipt, provide support, prevent fraud, and review an eligible refund request, such as:
- your name and email address;
- the Access Plan purchased;
- purchase date, amount, currency, and payment status;
- transaction or receipt identifier; and
- limited billing or fraud-prevention information provided by the payment processor.
Payment credentials are entered through the applicable payment provider. Loopa does not receive or store your full payment-card number, card security code, or online banking password.
Refund eligibility and the refund-request process are governed by the Loopa Terms and Conditions. Information submitted through the Contact Us form for a refund request is used to investigate and respond to that request.
2.4 Learning, Coding, and Service Activity
When you use the Services, we may collect and store:
- code you write, run, save, or submit;
- programming-language selections, test results, compiler output, and submission history;
- completed questions, progress, scores, points, rewards, referrals, and Access Plan usage;
- saved preferences and dashboard activity; and
- interactions with educational content, videos, hints, explanations, and solutions.
Code submissions may be transmitted to Loopa's code-execution infrastructure or service providers so the code can be compiled, executed, tested, and evaluated. Do not include passwords, API keys, private keys, confidential business information, regulated data, or unnecessary personal information in code submitted to Loopa.
2.5 Community and Communication Information
If community features are available, we may collect content you submit to public forums, comments, discussions, or user group chats. We also collect messages and information you provide through the Contact Us form, support requests, surveys, feedback, reports, and other communications with Loopa.
2.6 Device, Log, and Usage Information
We and our service providers may automatically collect technical information, including:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- browser type, operating system, device type, and language settings;
- dates and times of access, pages or features viewed, referring pages, and navigation activity;
- authentication, security, error, diagnostic, and performance logs; and
- cookie identifiers and similar technical identifiers.
We do not intentionally collect precise geolocation unless a feature clearly requests it and you provide any legally required permission.
2.7 Information We Do Not Intend to Collect
Loopa does not require government identification numbers, health information, biometric data, precise location, or other sensitive personal information to provide the ordinary Services. Please do not submit sensitive or confidential information unless Loopa specifically requests it for a lawful and clearly explained purpose.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect personal information:
- directly from you when you create a profile, write or submit code, make a purchase, participate in community features, or contact us;
- automatically through the Services, logs, cookies, and similar technologies; and
- from third parties, including identity providers, payment processors, security providers, and service providers that support the Services.
4. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account;
- provide educational content, coding tools, code execution, automated testing, saved progress, dashboards, and community features;
- activate and administer Access Plans, process one-time purchases, issue receipts, and review refund requests;
- personalize settings and remember preferences;
- respond to support requests, complaints, privacy requests, and other communications;
- send receipts, security alerts, account notices, service updates, legal notices, and other service-related communications;
- analyze performance, diagnose errors, understand feature usage, and improve the Services;
- protect users and Loopa, detect fraud or abuse, enforce the Terms, and investigate security incidents;
- administer points, rewards, referrals, discounts, and promotional features;
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests; and
- send marketing communications when you have opted in or when otherwise permitted by law. You may unsubscribe from marketing messages, but not from essential account or service communications.
Loopa may automatically evaluate code submissions and test results as part of the educational Services. Loopa does not use this automated evaluation to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where required by applicable law, including the GDPR and UK GDPR, we process personal information under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract: when processing is necessary to create and maintain your account, provide Loopa's Services, process an Access Plan purchase, save your progress, execute and evaluate code, or provide requested support.
- Legitimate interests: when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and improve Loopa, prevent fraud and abuse, understand service performance, and protect Loopa and its users, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
- Consent: when you choose to provide consent, including for non-essential cookies, marketing communications, or other processing where consent is required by law. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legal obligations: when processing is necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, tax or accounting requirements, or other legal obligations.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Loopa may use cookies, local storage, pixels, software development kits, and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential technologies: authentication, account security, session management, load balancing, checkout functionality, and other features necessary to provide the Services.
- Preference technologies: remembering settings and choices.
- Analytics technologies: understanding how the Services perform and how users interact with them.
Where required by law, Loopa will not place non-essential analytics or similar technologies until you provide consent. You can manage available choices through the cookie banner or preference center and through your browser or device settings. Disabling essential technologies may prevent parts of the Services from working correctly.
Loopa does not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not currently use advertising cookies to track you across unrelated websites. If this changes, Loopa will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices, consent tools, and opt-out methods required by law before the new practice applies.
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no uniform industry standard for these signals, Loopa does not respond to them in a standardized manner. Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid universal opt-out mechanism, Loopa will honor that mechanism for the processing to which it applies.
7. How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described below.
7.1 Service Providers
We may provide information to vendors that perform services for Loopa, such as:
- cloud hosting, storage, databases, backups, and content delivery;
- account authentication and identity services;
- code compilation, execution, testing, and technical infrastructure;
- payment processing, fraud prevention, receipts, and approved refunds;
- analytics, error monitoring, security, and performance monitoring;
- email delivery, customer support, and communications; and
- professional services such as legal, accounting, insurance, and compliance support.
These providers may process personal information only for the services they provide to Loopa or as otherwise permitted by applicable law and their contracts with us.
7.2 Identity and Payment Providers
When you choose third-party sign-in or payment services, information is exchanged with the selected provider as necessary to complete authentication or payment. Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, Facebook, Stripe, and PayPal may also process information as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.
7.3 Public or Shared Features
Information you intentionally post in a public forum, comment area, discussion, or group chat may be visible to other users or the public, depending on the feature. Your displayed name and profile image may appear with that content. Other people may copy, save, or redistribute information you make public, and Loopa cannot control their actions.
7.4 Legal, Safety, and Enforcement Purposes
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- comply with law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request;
- investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of the Terms;
- protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Loopa, users, or others; or
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
7.5 Business Transfers
If Loopa is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate protections.
7.6 At Your Direction
We may disclose information when you request or authorize us to do so.
7.7 No Sale or Sharing for Behavioral Advertising
Loopa does not sell personal information for money and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. Loopa also does not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
8. International Data Transfers
Loopa operates from the United States, and personal information may be processed in the United States and other countries where Loopa or its service providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws in your location.
Where required, Loopa relies on lawful transfer mechanisms and safeguards, which may include adequacy decisions, contractual protections such as approved standard contractual clauses, and additional technical or organizational measures.
9. Data Retention
Loopa retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Services, maintaining security, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and complying with legal, accounting, tax, and regulatory obligations.
The retention period depends on the type of information and why it is processed. The following criteria generally apply:
- account, profile, saved code, progress, and learning activity are generally retained while your account remains active and for a limited period after account deletion when necessary for backups, security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance;
- purchase, transaction, refund, tax, and accounting records are retained for the period required by applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping needs;
- security, authentication, fraud-prevention, and system logs are retained for a limited period based on security and investigation needs;
- support and privacy-request records are retained as needed to respond, document the request, resolve disputes, and comply with law;
- cookie-consent and preference records are retained as needed to document your choices; and
- public community content may remain available after account deletion as explained below.
When information is no longer required, Loopa will delete, de-identify, or securely isolate it, subject to technical limitations and lawful retention requirements. De-identified information may be retained and used for legitimate purposes when it cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
10. Security
Loopa uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Safeguards may include encryption in transit, access controls, logging, monitoring, backups, secure development practices, and vendor-management procedures.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Loopa cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your devices, email account, third-party sign-in account, and Loopa account from unauthorized access.
If a security incident affects your personal information, Loopa will provide notices required by applicable law.
11. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to:
- know whether Loopa processes your personal information and obtain information about that processing;
- access or receive a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of personal information;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
- appeal a decision concerning a privacy request where applicable;
- use an authorized agent to submit certain requests; and
- exercise your rights without unlawful discrimination or retaliation.
You may update certain profile information through your account settings. To exercise another privacy right, submit a request through the Contact Us form and identify the request as a privacy request. Please provide the email address associated with your account and enough information for us to understand and verify the request.
Loopa may request additional information to verify your identity, protect your account, or confirm an authorized agent's authority. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. We may deny or limit a request when an exception applies, such as protecting another person's rights, preventing fraud, preserving security records, complying with law, or establishing legal claims. Where required, we will explain the decision and available appeal process.
Residents of the European Economic Area or United Kingdom may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in their country or region.
12. Account Deletion
You may request account deletion through your account profile, where available, or through the Contact Us form.
Deleting your account may end access to saved work, progress, purchased access, and other account features. Refund rights, if any, are governed by the Loopa Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
After account deletion:
- Loopa may retain limited information when required for transaction records, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, backups, or enforcement;
- information will be removed from active systems or de-identified within a reasonable period, subject to applicable law and technical limitations; and
- comments, posts, messages, and other content submitted to public forums or user group chats may remain available unless you delete them before closing the account, Loopa removes them, or removal is legally required. Where appropriate, Loopa may disassociate that content from your account or display it without identifying your profile.
13. Children and Minors
The Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and Loopa does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we reasonably believe that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may suspend or close the account and delete or restrict associated information, subject to applicable law and necessary security or legal records.
A parent or legal guardian who believes a person under 18 has provided personal information to Loopa should contact us through the Contact Us form.
14. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may integrate with or link to third-party websites, applications, identity providers, payment processors, code-execution services, and other platforms. Those third parties control their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information processed independently by a third party, and Loopa encourages you to review that party's privacy policy before using its service.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Loopa may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Services, technology, law, security practices, or business operations. We will post the revised policy and update the "Last Updated" date.
If a change materially affects how we use previously collected personal information, we will provide reasonable notice and obtain consent where required by law. Changes apply prospectively unless applicable law permits otherwise.
16. Contact Us
Questions, privacy requests, account-deletion requests, and complaints concerning this Privacy Policy may be submitted through the Contact Us form available on the Loopa website.
When contacting us, please provide your name, the email address associated with your account, a clear description of the request, and any relevant transaction, receipt, or support reference. Do not submit passwords, full payment-card details, or unnecessary sensitive information through the form.
